Ms Prosper Kanja
“From Pain to Peace: My Journey to Complete Healing from Ulcers. Jesus is truly alive.”
DECEMBER, 2020.
Ms. Prosper Kanja had been experiencing stomach pain whenever she ate certain foods while at boarding school. This continued until she was diagnosed with gas-related issues in Grade 9.
The doctor advised her to avoid certain foods and provided guidance on how to take care of herself. This advice became her new way of living. Although the pain persisted, it was initially manageable.
However, by the time she reached Grade 12, her condition worsened significantly. The gas issues developed into ulcers, leading to stricter dietary restrictions and limitations on activities. For instance, she was advised not to take cold baths, as they could aggravate her condition. Despite her efforts to manage it, the problem persisted.
In January 2019, during her time at university, the condition became unbearable. She was forced to skip classes and spent an entire month confined to her bed, only reading and unable to engage in any other activity. Her body began rejecting even the recommended foods, including porridge, and she frequently vomited. The ulcers had become severe. Medical tests revealed that the condition was triggered by a bacterium known as Helicobacter pylori.
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) : is a type of bacteria that infects the stomach and is known for causing a variety of gastrointestinal conditions. It is one of the most common bacterial infections worldwide, with about half the global population estimated to be infected, though many people remain asymptomatic.
During her first year at the Copperbelt University (CBU), Ms. Kanja met a friend named David. Upon discovering her condition, David invited her to his church for prayers. Initially, she was hesitant because she had been prayed for by others in the past, but the pain always returned after a few days.
Eventually, she accepted David’s invitation to attend his church, Harvest Time Ministry International, in December 2022.
On the morning, she went to the church, Ms. Kanja had not eaten anything—a departure from her usual routine of taking warm water and food to start her day. As the day began, she started feeling the familiar signs of pain coming on.
When she arrived at the church, the servant of the Lord, Apostle Richard Kangwa was ministering the Word of God. To her amazement, the pain suddenly stopped, and she began to feel hungry instead.
When the prayer line opened, she felt a strong conviction in her heart to open herself fully to God’s intervention. She acted on this prompting and joined the prayer line.
Apostle Richard Kangwa asked her about her condition, how long she had been unwell, and the foods she could not eat. She explained everything in detail. To her surprise, she realised she had been able to stand throughout the entire service without eating; despite feeling hungry the moment she entered the church.
She mentioned that she only felt hungry, without the usual pain that had accompanied her condition for years. This came as a surprise to her. When asked if she would like to be offered some food, she shyly declined, as she later narrated.
The servant of the Lord, the Apostle, prayed for her and encouraged her to eat the foods she had previously been unable to consume. After the service, she decided to test her healing by purchasing popcorn and fritters. To her amazement, she ate them without experiencing any pain—something that had been impossible before, as she would normally have had to drink a lot of warm water before eating.
When she returned to the university that day, she ate nshima with her friends—something she had avoided throughout her condition. In the past, eating nshima would have left her writhing in pain on the floor. However, since the day she was prayed for, the pain disappeared entirely. She has been completely healed and remains fine to this day.
We give all praise, glory, and honour to the Living God, who is performing mighty signs and wonders through His vindicated servant, Apostle Richard Kangwa, at Harvest Time Ministry International.
